Minimalist Mama pushes books, of course
A couple of months ago I asked the local newspaper, where I used to work a few years ago, if I could start a column about my path to minimalism.
Luckily, they agreed, and in February 2017, I began "Minimalist Mama," a column to help readers learn to live a life with less. (View the most recent column here.)
After the first column, which outlined my plan and reasons for writing each month, the second month focused on resources available to learn more about living a minimalist lifestyle. Naturally, books were involved, as were videos, blogs and podcasts.
No matter how many ways in which we can all access information, I always find myself coming back to books. I love that I can pick up a book, read what I need to, and then put it aside for later. I can't do that when I don't have wi-fi or a good cellphone plan. I'm also older now, so I still enjoy the comfort and familiarity of printed materials over swiping something on an iPad.
Of course, when you have a lot of books, it's difficult to live a minimalist lifestyle. Thankfully, there's always the library! But I am curious, what are the methods in which you prefer to learn new material? Printed books? Podcasts? Videos? Social media? A combination of all of them?
