A summer of self-care
This summer I decided to take two summer classes. While working full time at a new role within my library. While vacationing. While parenting two kids who didn't have nearly enough to do during the summer.
What was I thinking?!
Seriously, though, how do we do it? With little time for self-care, writing, reading, socializing and all those other things I enjoy outside my family (hello, Netflix!) it just became too overwhelming this summer.
So I decided to change that.
I made a plan to write more, to read more, to spend more time with people who make me happy. That means I can't take the heavy course load I hoped to in the fall, which may delay graduation a bit. But you know what? So what -- what's the rush?
I have to get back to basics to keep myself sane as a mom, a wife, an employee and a community member. But most of all, I have to do it for me.
I'm looking for tips on what works for others in terms of self-care, relaxation and unwinding. Share your suggestions in the comments!
